Friday’s Heart Opener: Tarra and Bella, A Tribute to Friendship, Loyal and True

A stray dog and a 40 year old rescued elephant bond and form a friendship based on a love that will never die.

We are blessed in life if we can find that one true friend.  A friendship like Tarra and Bella’s.

Sadly, Tarra lost her best friend in a tragic accident. She tried to protect Bella’s body and carried Bella’s body with her trunk.

The staff gave Tarra the time to grieve with the body, something elephants need and want to do when they lose a loved one.

Tarra has started to bond with her elephant sisters now but still visits Bella’s grave every day.

They are so much like us. Although, we could learn a lot about how to be more of  a evolved human from their example.

Donate to The Elephant Sanctuary and help feed Tarra and all her friends.
